Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
This obviously doesnât work in Spanish, so they have the kid ask what âbroncoâ means, and Larry says if his wife doesnât see him come home drunk, she doesnât âecha una broncaâ (start an argument).
Thanks for passing that along. It never occurred to me that different language versions of the same strip would need different jokes. One of the problems with a comic like PBS that uses a lot of word play, I suppose. I wonder if Pastis helps to write or gets to approve the Spanish version?
Larry, quaff that beer and go to your room! Patty WILL clobber you if she sees you, and Junior is clearly better off studying when you are not around to confuse the issue with your brain-fartsâŠ.
Reminds me of Stephen Wright mentioning something about âa theme, a motif⊠Thereâs a word you donât hear often. Leon Spinks, use the word motif in a sentence. âI wish I had motif.ââ (Google him if you have to.)
