I am going to guess the young one would not be a Nightwish fan either.

What wrong with “YES” as the name of a band? How does he feel about “THE WHO”?

I remember buying a Moby Grape album for the cover – I snagged one before the record store realized what was on it and covered the offending finger with a sticky label. The cover was great, the music was forgettable.

I bought the Electric Light Orchestra’s album with Dorothy’s Ruby Slippers just for that iconic cover!

Roger Dean was the creator of the YES album covers. He conjured up some magical, airbrushed worlds o’ wonder.

I remember the “Tales From Topographic Oceans” tour. Had to wear earplugs for the concert.

Maybe most of us have thought that what older people listened to was silly; the mistake is thinking that older people music is silly but ours is not. Still, I actually think that most music from today is silly, and I still wonder what do teens find of interest in that music.

Speaking of album covers, one of the most imaginative was the Captain Beyond cover with the 3D Hologram…

I like many older groups far more than anything I hear today, for the simple reason that more of them were able to speak clearly and have people understand the lyrics. Or at least, the words in the lyrics, the meaning was perhaps a bit harder at times. The more modern “singers” sound like they start with a mouthful of marbles, and move downward from there.
