Living by myself, I do my own laundry. There are times I forget to check the pockets: tissues, papers, cell phone (happened once or twice with the phone). Anyway, I would never suspect there to be live animals in the pockets as well as in the machine.
I could get all of my husband’s tissues out. His mother couldn’t, because she would forget that there was a 100% chance that there were tissues in at least one pocket still, when they hit the laundry. That said, he did most of the laundry when he was alive, so it was his problem!

Also check her own pockets. It has happened to my wife enough times over the years.

Leaving paper currency in the pockets could get you arrested for money laundering.

Rather than litter, my dad used to put his cigar in his pants pocket. Don’t have to tell you how that looked in the washing machine.
