So whoever pulls that sword out of the stone, are they crowed the Tuscan king or something?

I just recall coming across this just a few days ago. The sword in the stone. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2001/sep/16/rorycarroll.theobserver

Carbon-dating confirmed that two mummified hands in the same chapel at Montesiepi were also from the twelfth century. Legend has it that anyone who tried to remove the sword had their arms ripped out.

In English legend the sword Excalibur is pulled from a stone by the future King Arthur, heralding his glory. In Galgano’s case the miracle signified humility and holiness.

So is it just possible to name yourself a sommelier of (whatever) and give yourself that title? With wine sommelier and beer cicerone, it’s a pretty tough certification that you must pass in order to call yourself one. But without the certification process, I guess anyone can be an “expert” at something.

I think I’ll start using the title “BBQ Rib sommelier” now…

That duck was in Pittsburgh a few years ago. You can forensically date which girls’ OkCupid profiles were abandoned in 2016 based on their pictures being in front of it.

But a giant toddler then came and destroyed the waterfront.

I find the expression “A real life sword in a stone” amusing, as in this case “real life” is referring to two inanimate objects – the sword and the stone.
