So true, plus the many hours setting up the learning environment, (classroom) unpacking supplies (if your lucky) making copies, writing parent letters,setting up bulletin boards,attending workshops, etc. But all that prep pays off,so thanks for showing this side of the job:)
I wore many hats during my stint with schools, 1st grade ~ College bound, Many memories, and plenty of satisfactions, You name it I was there, From: Cafeteria Worker, (I and II), Custodian/Janitor, (aka Buildings and Ground Worker/Maintenance Engineer) Maintenance Supervisor, (I and II) gardener, Part time Instructor, and last one, Middle Management ! 22 years worth of good times bad times, but all taken in stride with a smile on my face!
Hmmm. This strip is the direct opposite of similar strips; in those, Rose says that she’s probably hard at work getting her work organized, and then we see Ms. Harris out surfing or some such.

At least school doesn’t start until September for them. I work as an evening custodian and we started back on the 16th.
