Blame Saudi Arabia and Pakistan——our allies for it.

    Beautiful strip!

There was a fireman who walked in near the end of our church service Sunday morning. When I wake up I will explain.

    Remember, we will

    Their sacrificial call

    The ultimate gift

    They surrendered it all

In our hearts and our thoughts

    They will forever stand tall

    Whenever we reflect

On the horror of the fall

    Some came running

    Into danger

    Risk their lives

    Helping strangers.

    Mighty towers

    Tumbled down

    Many helpers

    Never found.

Save us from the true believers

    Hateful violence, vile deceivers.

    Today ‘tis fitting to recall

    Some came running, sacrificing all.

Good Morning, Everyone. We have been hearing less of North Korea and Isis and more of Harvey, Irma and Jose. We can prevent wars, we can’t prevent acts of Mother Nature or God.

Interesting that the article on 9/11 comics on the main page has it in black and white. While here it’s in full color.

Those who give the last full measure of devotion must always be remembered and respected, but, it has been sixteen years. The World Trade center has been magnificently rebuilt. It is time to stop mourning and get on with the business of living. What did comic strips show on Dec. 7, 1957?

Besides the excellent tribute of today’s strip, we can also see the timing of recent strips helping with the overall flow of the storylines: the Lincoln scam story through September 3, six days of the interlude with T-Bolt and Sawtooth, yesterday’s stand-alone joke strip, today’s 9/11 tribute, and now presumably back to the scam starting tomorrow.

GWEEDO IT’S LEGAL HERE Being a local as you are, where were you and what were you doing when it all went down?

I was at my job in midtown Manhattan. My office was on the 33rd floor facing the WTC. My boss yelled, “Look out the window!”. I saw the first tower burning. We proceeded to watch as the second plane hit, we saw it as it flew towards tower 2 and watched as both buildings fell. I worked for a brokerage firm and one of our traders had gone to a meeting at Windows of World that morning. He was on the phone with the trading desk which wad put on speaker phone and it was heart wrenching to hears his desperate pleas for help when there was nothing we could do. I lost many friends who worked in the towers that morning. One fireman who went to my church was lost that day. The mayor came to his memorial service. One interesting side affect, for months following the attack all us jaded New Yorker’s who never gave a second thought about the planes flying over the city would totally stop in the streets whenever a plane flew low enough to hear and we’d all just watch it, wondering if it was another attack. That’s my 9/11 memories.

Excellent post, Gentlemen. As always. May we never forget.

If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh? If you poison us, do we not die? And if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?

    I’ll leave it at that.

As one who was in NY on that day, & who saw Ground Zero close hand about 10 days after the attack, I agree we should always pause to remember what happened that day & mourn all those who lost their lives, & I salute Joe & Mike for doing so. On a separate note, caught up with yesterdays’ strip today. I can only believe it was a gag or goof strip never meant to be actually published but somehow slipped through.

Sixteen years. Never forget. I was getting ready to head out from my apartment to my office when I heard the first reports on the radio; I immediately turned on the TV….

My cousin had that day off from his job at the Pentagon, in an office not far from where the plane hit.

    I salute our First Responders.

Just so you remember the real causes and the lies told and many thousands killed in other countries by us to cover those lies told here to us.
