Oh, deer.

Wiley likes this theme. He often has meat eaters being greeted by pigs and cows at the “pearly gates.” So, it’s no surprise that he has a hunter being greeted by a deer!

The timing of this cartoon is unfortunate.

I hunt for the meat, not the antlers, just as people eat chickens, goats, horses, pigs, cows, etc. I seem to think Wiley has leaned toward the vegan side, so it’s not just the “get even” factor with hunters. But it IS appropriate for “trophy” hunters, like the Trump sons.

I wonder what St.Peter does on his break? A root beer, Hostess fruit pie and a cigarette?

don’t you people realize that “hunters” NEED automatic weapons (and many of them) to “hunt” game? ……that and a PHALLIC substitute.

@tejanolazyeyes: you are correct, the timing may be poor for a comic strip but that is the result of prior scheduling and not intent.

However, it offers the opportunity to express my deepest sympathy and my prayers for all those souls affected by the Las Vegas shooting.

Not one of them deserved to be the target of the shooter but he never reconsidered the pain, horror and fear his actions would cause. How does one identify what motivates a person to do such a thing and with such careful planning.

He is dead and so no one will ever know for certain or if he actually knew himself. One can only pray that this outcome will deter others from doing the same thing to any individual or group.

I will add my prayers and admiration for the ‘heroes’ who put their own safety aside in favor of helping other victims. No greater love. . .
