Yes, Fay is cute. Seems like the girl I’d like to bring home to meet mom. Axel … he seems a little more like a Les-in-training, maybe young enough to be salvageable?
I like the way Luann refers to him as “your boy, Axel.” I guess Luann has been reading ahead in the scripts and knows it’s just a matter of time before Axel will belong to Fay.
She sounds like a typical tween. Repetitious and does not make much sense. Wonder if Axel did show some kindness to Fay on one of her rare appearances at school and got her hooked on him? Girl like Fay get ridculed a lot because of missing school and being sickly.
I think Fay sees Axel as a guy who does anything he wants. Her life is so constricted. Fay probably dreams of something like hopping on Axel’s skateboard with him and sailing away. Axel did show up to the failed Drama Camp. Can Luann put something together for Fay that would entice Axel?
When girls turn into women they stop liking bad boys. Some stay girls until they die. Some divorce the bad boy they married, and some find, lucky for them, he’s not a bad boy any more.
Upsets me to see long drawn out unnecessary suffering. Put her on a GAPS diet and she will start feeling better in days. Her affect will change as well. No more poor me.
Fay likes a bad boy (and he is just a grade Z little punk, he aggravating like preteens can be but hardly really a bad body), but she is head over heals about him with her sweet self (later when they grow up he should hope she is still interested) but she also wants to get in the play, and can distinguish the two. Plus the illness, and the hovering mom. Luann, you have a job here, but my money is you are up to it. I’m pushing for Fay.
I get the impression that this is a constant interior monologue for Fay, that is starting to make its way past her lips. Luann, unlike mom, is leaving enough unused space for Fay to speak.
OK, ok … the ‘it maybe was tryouts’ thought fell through … had to insert thoughts during break between all the hectic at work. Still, while one play begins – another is in the works. I mean – there’s community / children’s theater in most towns.
A while ago, in a Fay arc, I mentioned that it hopefully would NOT turn into something of a Step Up movie plot [what a .. great .. franchise .. THAT is, huh? :( ]. I hope Luann is good at gentle coaxing for Fay. And, for now (that could change, if he can) I hope a Fayxel thing doesn’t happen.
While I like that Fay is speaking more for herself…. I dread the probable return of Mr. Axel. The small amount of what we have seen of him seems destined to be annoying now and in the future.
Maybe Axel is just some ‘placeholder’ character that signals Fay’s needs, insecurities, other personality attributes. Axel might disappear from the dialog when Fay no longer needs or wants him.
So does EVERYONE FINALLY GET that the play starts next week and Fay missed trying out for it because she was sick?!!! OR do we have to repeat panel #2 the rest of the week?
Fay is relaxed around Luann and unleashes her word-hoard. One might wonder if the stress of being constantly around an over-protective (and in some ways insensitive) mother isn’t the cause of some of Fay’s “allergies”?

That was a lot from someone who barely speaks. Of course before her mom tells her of her latest ailment.Tome to break out of the shell, Faye.

Notice the bottom of the flyer got a lot closer to the WEEK! today. There was a lot of green there yesterday.

Boy, are we an approximate half hour late for GoComics to upload. In the mean time, Fay sure said a mouthful.

Say, I think I’ve just figured out what Fay’s “Medical Problem” is.
She has a Cyst named “Axel.” All Fay’s gotta do is Lance that “boil” and She’ll be just Fine!
Until the next Worthless Punk walks into Her life…….,

“Your boy Axel”? Luann’s being a bit presumptuous.

“Did I even say anything?” That’s a grownup line with a burst of maturity in her expression.

Fay likes theater.
Fay likes Axel.
Axel likes skateboarding.
Isn’t it obvious?
Do Shakespeare —on skateboard.
A Tailflip, told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
Ollie world’s a stage.
To Air is human…
The course of true love never did Backside.
That which we Caballerial would Fakie as sweet.
Once more into the Grind dear friends and Kickflip the day.
To thine own Speed Wobble be true.
Now is the Wheelbase of our discontent made glorious Bearings by this Truck of chrome.

What the heck does Fay see in Axel? He’s a rude, self-absorbed loser who doesn’t even know she’s alive.

Oh, and this is totally not about Axel!

Fay needs a group home for the mentally challenged, not life coaching from a sniveling whiny non-entity like Luann.
