Exactly. If ever the Church wants to stem the tide of defections & increase the ranks of the priesthood, perhaps they should consider ordaining women. There’s no reason other than an ill-conceived tradition that retains the status quo in the 21st century.
I attended an Episcopal ordination recently. According to my unofficial head count, 1/3 of the clergy were women, including the bishop. And the Catholic Church is complaining about lack of priests.
In WWII, we had Rosie the Riveter in the United States. Germany and Japan had no such programs: it shows you what Girl Power can do.
Actually, a lot MORE than half are women. In your average Catholic Church, there are far more women in the pews than men. And the priest may be the ONLY male at that altar. The readers, the altar servers, and the Eucharistic ministers are sometimes ALL women.
In the next panel Br. Leo explained that Pope Francis has stated in October that reserving ordination to men alone is an infallible teaching ordained by Christ himself. As taught by the Church Fathers, all the Councils, and repeated by the Popes-including Paul VI, St. John-Paul II, and Benedict XVI. And as witnessed by the Protestant Churches that ordain woman and allow clergy to marry, it does not fix the vocation shortage.

My mum was Missouri Synod Lutheran. They are the Roman Catholics of the Protestant Church. My way or the highway, and No Girls Allowed.
I joined my dad’s Episcopal church as soon as I was able. She wasn’t happy.
