Had a brief conversation with a popular “geek” website. We agreed, I’m a nerd (into math, science, computers, …) but not a geek (into graphic novels, role playing, …). Rob is right, he’s not a nerd. He IS a geek and his shirt emphasizes it.
A rare moment of candor, when Rob admits that his way is not always the right way, and Bucky might just know more than he does on some issues. That’s in part why he consistently tries to project those uncertainties onto Bucky. Not that Bucky is without transgression or shortcomings himself. But I must admit, I do like his “I don’t suffer fools gladly” perspective.
Many strips that run in newspapers have non-sequitur Saturday strips as not all people get (in the old days) a Saturday paper, some papers don’t publish comics on Saturday, and my small hometown paper didn’t publish on Saturday at all. Hence, story lines would never conclude for some readers if ended on a Saturday. I know of at least one strip (Sherman’s Lagoon) that starts new story lines mid-week so a missed Saturday strip doesn’t matter to the story conclusion. I spend too much time on comics…

What happened to Fungo putting his stogie out on the carpet yesterday, and lighting up a new one?

I gotta side with Bucky on this one.

That outfit won’t be complete until he doesn’t bathe for a week. (I know it should be months or a year but I’m trying to rhyme)

A more accurate phrase would be that Rob and the shirt create a synergy of The Nerd.

Try “Tweek a Geek for a Week” angle!

I’m not convinced Rob actually plays D&D. He never seems to leave the apartment. Maybe he plays online.

OK, I played much D&D in my youth; nothing nerdy abut it. But the shirt? You’re on your own there, Wilco…………

D&D? What ancient dungeon did they drag that out of? Long past popular.

Rob might get busted by the Gnomeland Security (Fashion Division) for wearing that!
