A few days ago, Connie said she was on a hospital board. Hospital boards are usually either an advisory board to provide advice and council to a higher authority or a fiduciary board. Doing work on a hospital project is not really their function. Connieâs comment makes me wonder if she is not on a board but more like a committee as Elly has suggested.
Yeah, thatâs pretty much how all jobs go. My store has twenty cashiers, but only a handful of them can move faster than the recommended âscanning rateâ, and most are usually too old or two out of shape to do anything physical, meaning that only a handful of us are actually able to get ACTUAL work done.

Actually, as I remember my teaching days, 3 of 9 would actually have been an improvement on our committeeâs work vs ârestâ ratio.

It always falls to the very few to do all the work, while the others sit back and take the credit.

Just like high school, college, and any âwork committeeâ anybodyâs ever been on.

Typical, but above average. Average active participation in volunteer organizations is about 5 to 10%

My good friend has to work in a chronically under staffed office.

The larger the committee, the less it gets accomplished!
