Calvin does have a point. I’ll never understand people who have money, but would rather freeze in their house than turn on the heat!

When my daughter was around 7 years old she came to me one winter wearing a T shirt and shorts (in the house) one February asking me why I did not turn up the heat. Her mother told her to get dressed.

My parents were like Calvin’s parents.

I don’t know, I’m in Florida and it was 29 this AM. Even measurable snow in some parts.

Too bad Calvin can’t crank up some common sense.

In my house putting on a sweater doesn’t help, when it is too cold you start coughing and get a cold. So you must turn on the heating.

Weather just about anyplace is unpredictable. Last winter there was a photo in the local newspaper, taken when the temps were at their “bounciest”. Two kids, walking to school between snowbanks, and wearing shorts. Ah, Maryland!

It’s warmer in Juneau, Alaska (37) than Tallahassee, Florida (31) right now. Good luck Calvin, Hobbes will send you a post card saying “Wish you were here (don’t ya), haha!”

Actually this sounds like my other half and me. Winter is a battle between “turn up” and “turn down”.

My wife has her own built in heater if you know what I mean so she’s loving the cold weather.

Waterson must have been feeling a bit lazy while drawing this strip. There is no background drawn in any of the 4 panels to show what room Calvin was in.
