    Back when I lived in Yankeeland, I always found the sledding didn’t get good until kids had been using the hill for a day or two. But that’s because I had a runner sled. Got to get packed and icy to maximized the speed with those. You just sink in powder.

    I completely disagree, sledding in fresh powder is a trip to nowhere. It takes hours of several kids packing down the snow to get a decent run, and the best sledding usually does not take place until day 3 when most of the run is ice. But when you get to that point, the sledding is incredible. Do i ever miss those days! Best. Childhood. Memories. Ever.
