Another great chart by Puck and Burt’s scrolls are too funny :) With my two, Sammy is frightened of the vacuum but Dean will let me use the upholstery tool on him.
Will these two full size vacuums get together and produce a roomba? If so, what will the boys do then? Merely hiding under a bureau won’ t be enough. Oh, the felinity!
Three of mine head for the hills when I get out my vacuum but my tomboy bravely faces it down. She sits, with half-lidded feline disdain, and dares it to come after her. She’ll even saunter up to it and swat at it, firmly putting it in its place.
“Third wheel on the world’s loudest date.” Wow! I never really appreciated just how awful the vacuum was before. That really puts it in perspective, Elvis.
Just goes to show you what a professional newscaster is supposed to do.
Love the “Do not attempt to rabbit kick”. I had a vibrating massage chair that made a noise and whenever Fafnir heard it she would come from rooms away, ears pinned back, run up, slap it three or four times in a blur of feet, and retreat. I’m sure she thought it had me.
I had one cat that would sit on my shoulders like a parrot when I vacuumed, she was very brave and adventurous. I had an even braver pet bunny ride the vacuum – course that bunny feared NO ONE. This strip reminds me of all the happy times I have had with my critters in the past and present. Makes me smile. :)
Those weather reporters you see on TV? The ones who stand out in the LOUD hurricane-force winds, next to the storm-tossed ocean? Well… they’ve got absolutely nothing on these wonderful BCN reporters! Oh my Cat!
Wishing a happy Bunday to all BCN orbsters! Orb bumps and boops and hugs to all orbsters and orbabies. May you all keep well and warm (or cool, if such is your preference) today.
In 1959 we bought a Kirby for our future home. It had attachments for polishing shoes, sharpening knives, buffing, & attachments for a hose. It was so loud neighbors knew when we were using it. Our first dog didn’t like it. 50 years later our 3 cats & dog managed to endure an Oreck. Our small dog, Maxwell chased & barked at it, cats took cover. None liked small hand held Oreck used frequently to remove cat hair from furniture.
It’s been years since I’ve had carpet, but I do remember my old Kirby upright had a light. The man should bring home a dustbuster, then they’d think the vacuums had babies.
I only have 1 room in the house with carpet and yes it’s the one the litter boxes are in. I start with the shop vac and end the the Dyson canister vac. Even the dog doesn’t like it but he just moves around the room as I vacuum. The cats run like their tails are on fire. The cats do battle with the broom though. I wonder if they think it is trying to make a gollum out of all their hard shed hair?
I’ve said this before, when I vacuum, I tell my boys “hidey hole babies, hidey hole” while picking up the big stuff from the floor and ff they go. Soon as I start clearing the floor, Vlad watches me and as soon as I say it, he’s gone!
My cats, like most, are freaked out by loud vacuum cleaners. So I got one of those non-electric push sweepers with the roller brushes, and my cats freaked out and ran away from it exactly like they do with a loud electric vacuum!
These are the same cats that think it’s playtime whenever I get out a broom or a duster.
Jasper was my only cat who wasn’t afraid of the sweeper. He loved to have me use the upholstery attachment to brush his fur while the sweeper was running.

I’m impressed that Puck can construct a chart even under these circumstances.

Ma’am, if your vacuum looks like Puck’s chart, you need a new vacuum. Pretty sure they stopped making those 40 years ago.
