Pucky, always on the lookout for food. Lupin always drawn to candle flames. Elvis eating the flora and getting sick. Another day; another vase! The only thing missing is a crying baby! Yup, just a quiet, romantic dinner for 5! Happy Valentine’s Day!
It’s cute that Lupin is wagging his tail in the last panel. My late cat T’mos T’moose wagged his tail. Actually wagged it, not just cat twitching and lashing.
Oh what a romantic evening indeed – cat barf, mooching, and a maniacal need to attack fire :) Oh well, at least they’re trying – got to be hard with a baby and 3 crazy cats
Sorry about the rant, but I really hate Go Comics for not giving an option to zoom in and view the comic. (And yes, I’ve tried giving the feedback to them in all possible ways, but in vain.)
So much to love here. Panel 3, the Man keeps Pucky’s tail out of the candle flame; panel 4, the Man has Puck safe as the Woman grabs for Lupin, who has lost his fedora, and, oops, there goes the owl vase; the dialog, both of the People and the cats; and, panel 9, Lupin’s pose of ecstasy at the romance of it all with his back legs crossed, his front paws together, and his tail all a-swish. I look forward to reading comments about what I have missed.
I love Lupin’s little pointed, crossed feet in the final panel. But am I seeing things, or does it look like he has three front paws? (I think it might be the Man’s thumb, but it’s all white.)
One of my guys puked up a grand gooey mess for me first thing this morning as I was getting up, and it made my day: he did it on a tile floor. Bless you, my child.
Today Elvis reminds me of my first Maine Coon, The Big Bamboo. He just loved flowers as an inbetween meal snack. So much so that once my husband brought me flowers and then put a bottle of Ranch dressing on the table where Bamboo was sitting.
I have a gently subversive hint for those of you on the Oregonian trade area (mostly Oregon and SW Washington, around Vancouver). I was in Portland and noticed that a couple of the on line only comics had been shifted to print, and a couple of the print comics had been moved to on line only. This MAY be a chance for our beloved BCN to do the same. I have written a quick email to the editor in charge, Mark Katches, making this suggestion. If you have a moment, feel the same, and would like to do the same, this might be a good time.
Those cats are a little on the fiesty side tonight! With dogs it would be the begging for the steak… the constant begging… but the cats… yup… the numerous distractions…
. . . with our first cat, Edoh, who was half Siamese, loved to sit on the window sill and watch the birds outside. He also like to watch us sleep. Many a time, I’d wake up and see him watching us thru the blinds. He didn’t care for our romance and would bite Jim on his ankle, thinking that he was hurting me, causing me to giggle. Every time, that I’d make a noise, Jim would get nipped again. Sadly, I took it too far and made noise on purpose. Edoh didn’t appreciate this, so he started nipping ME! Eventually, we kept the bedroom door closed, with Edoh on the other side. We miss that little “goober”! :’(
Warm Funday thoughts to everyone! Keep those portable, furry, heating pads as close as they’ll let ya!Really, truly, hoping all your orbs are at peace! Blessings! ^.,.^<
I had a friend who liked having candles even if we were eating ramen noodle soup. The rule was if you left the table, even for a moment, the candle was put out lest a curious cat come after it. None of our cats were as fire crazy as Lupin, but they were very interested in anything that happened on that table!
I did this recently. A romantic steak dinner with cats. Yep fortunately for the cats my date loves cats too. Meav was perched my date’s shoulder and KK was between us. Miscreant decided to land on the table and Ichy sat patiently on the floor waiting to be served. Until I brought the steaks in from the grill Meav and KK had been hiding from my date. My cats have never acted this way towards anyone or steak before. I think I found a keeper.
Love this one. The People all set for a romantic evening. And the boys each doing their own thing. Elvis “I like to smell flowers”. And I understand that in Georgia’s real world, Lupin really does have a fascination for candles.
I’m having a blue Sunday/funday, Orbsters. My cat Simon has a large lump on his side. Simon is my darling Flamepoint Siamese rescue. Awaiting results of tests. But vet kept saying: this doesn’t look good. Our feline friends leave us too soon.
This just struck me. I wonder if the Woman is going to dress up the boys and the baby in costumes? I can see it now: hearts, chocolate, flowers. It would be great. And we know that the cats really love the costumes!
My boys have had an exhausting day – they are currently passed out in their favourite sleeping spots. Intensive bird watching (a gloriously sunny day for once) on the back deck, Sammy had to assist in the weekly changing of the bed sheets, weekly brushing (of Dean anyway, Sammy won’t let me brush him unless “burrito-ed”) of the fur and the inevitable vacuuming (where does all that fur come from?) thereafter followed by playtime as “mum” finds all the lost toys when the evil machine is out. I know I could use a nap :)

The only way to have a romantic dinner is to put the boys in a closed room. AND wear earmuffs to muffle the plaintiff cries.

Lupin loves romance! And balls of light, which he must chase.

Look at Puck’s tail in that next to the last panel. What Poof! I hope he snagged some steak during all the chaos.

Good ol’ Puck. So adaptable. No ham tonight? No problem. He will wait there patiently for some steak.

So far my pastor has flatly refused to make heart-shaped smudges on our foreheads. I might have to save some steak ashes. Hey, Jesus loves me too.

Aww! I love this one! The Woman’s hair is so beautiful in a ponytail. Nope, romantic dinners “alone” are not allowed when you have cats. Hehe!

Is that smoke curling behind the man in the final panel?

Lupin’s swishing tail in the final panel is so accurate – when a kitty tail swishes, stuff is about to go down!

Panel 4, there’s such a disruption on the table the Man’s steak is bouncing off his plate in to the air.

If you want a romantic dinner with three cats in the house, the answer is simple. Go somewhere else.
