I’ve had those mornings where I had no reason to take a walk. It was only a few days later that we started researching for our new “reason to take a walk”.

I used to complain periodically when I had to take the dog out. Now that she is gone I wish more than anything that I could take her out…

My dogs LOVE that kind of weather… lucky for me, I live in the boonies and don’t need to walk them, can just open the door and let them out. They have 10 acres to roam around. When I go with them on the cold days – they zip around like they are showing me everything “Look at this, did you see this?” So cute.

It is so sad that our pets live such short lives in comparison but it does give us the opportunity to experience all types of animal love. This strip is a good reminder to appreciate you furry companion while you can. I’m going to sign off now and give my 4 rescue kitties hugs and pats. Thank you, Louie, for the reminder. I love you.

Now that’s a top-notch owner. And just think … spring will be here before we know it.

    Good Evening, Crew.

I had two Scottish terriers in succession that had opposite reactions to weather. The first, Christie, was AKC registered, and had the official Scotty coat, thick, oily undercoat, long guard hairs over it. She LOVED wet weather, and would spend hours poking around our back yard in the rain, probably because it was the only time she wasn’t too hot.

Bridget, on the other hand, was a rescue and probably a puppy-mill dog, and had only the long over coat, nothing underneath. She got soaked to the skin in seconds, and loathed being wet. She would walk out into the street to avoid errant lawn sprinklers.
