Not on national TV, at least.

I lost interest in the Olympics ever since NBC made it so you have to pay somebody to be able to watch. You can only watch using the NBC app if you have a subscription to cable or satellite. I can’t get cable OR satellite at my house, and I’m too far from the tower to watch the “local” NBC station over-the-air. So much for the “land of the free”.

I stopped when the president stupidly said no participation in the Olympics dashing the hopes and dreams of American who had worked hard to go.

Night, You mean when they were held in Russia, and Russia had just invaded Afghanistan?….You don’t party with the enemy over the bodies of the people they’ve killed. Well, republicans under Trump do, now. But Carter was the last president to stand up to the Russians and Communism…..

If nothing else, Tonya Harding looks like she’d be much more fun to party with than Nancy Kerrigan……

I’ll just watch cat curling.

I stopped caring when I clued in that the Olympics are a private FOR PROFIT corporation. They extort a hosting fee from countries who are asked to provide the facilities and the athletes perform for free.

How would you feel if your neighbour came to you, asked you to host a gathering. In order to do so you have to remodel your home at a cost you can’t afford, provide the food and entertainment all for the " privilege " of making your neighbour feel good.

I stopped watching when “Up Close and Personal” became more important than the competition.

Oh wait. That’s when NBC bought in.

I stopped watching when I realized that they nothing but propaganda. No one cares about individual achievements. It’s all about what country won the most medals.

I only watch the curling, excellent this year, we won!

I dropped tv sports viewing when professional players began taking in more income than the president. That was several decades back in the 20th century. When I returned at a later date to see what, if anything, had changed, I found that the networks and the ‘talking heads’ got more screen time than the participants, the events were timed and broken as networks ruled, and ads had stretched the times into infinity. But then that is the same pattern for tv movies.

When money talks, common sense and quality walk.

Oh how I miss the old days when figure skating actually counted the ability to do figure work on ice as the ‘short program’ Watching Dick Button and Sonja Henie trace the lines on ice was a pure joy of precise skating.

I cannot recall the last time I that I watched a Winter Olympics television broadcast. Sort of like the X Games, something I can miss, and not feel bad about it.

Um… is there a decapitated hockey player on the bar’s TV?

I lost interest when the broadcast networks (there have been more than one) just showed highlights or one or two runs rather than the entire event.

I lost interest in the Olympic sports that involve professionals playing/participating. I know other countries sponsor their athletes, but there is something about a local kid who works hard and makes it to the Olympics rather than some professional who does it day in and day out, and gets paid for it.

I enjoyed the Olympics. With three channels, if you didn’t think curling was exciting, you could watch hockey or bobsledding. It was different seeing the Koreas compete as one, if they can get some kind of cooperation going, maybe the world has a chance.

I don’t watch the Olympics, summer and winter, because they’re too bloated. I’m sorry, but synchronized swimming/diving? Rhythmatic gymnastics? I can go on and on.Return to the basics. If it’s a timed event, or one where they keep score (shooting/archery) fine. Anything that involves judges, bye bye. Boxing has become too corrupt, even at the amateur level: Seoul, 1988 with Roy Jones, Jr.

I think that the French judge just awarded me a 5.5 when I clearly deserved at least a 9.5

“No one gets kneecapped any more”? Tell that to the athletes having knee reconstructions.

For me it was 2009 when they took away analog. I haven’t been connected to television since.
