Bothered/frustrated is one thing. I get frustrated as well, when my morning paper turns up and I can’t enjoy my morning puzzle. It’s bordering on OCD once it starts to control you, though. As in “I’m supposed to…"
Really, the only people who need newspapers now, are inmates, as some can’t use internet etc… so their only source of comics, puzzles etc. are the papers.
I still get the paper, at least for now. However, if it doesn’t get here before I leave for work, it’s useless. When it’s time to resubscribe, I may get the dead tree edition on Wednesday and Sunday (for the coupons and sales) and go online the rest of the week. That’s what I do when I’m out of town anyway.
Funny, I never thought of it as OCD. This cartoon (and) the comments really nailed my mornings. Because I’m gone before the paper comes on Saturdays and Sundays, I just recently dropped the paper-paper for those days. Saved over half on my bills. I get the online version virtually free and I can print the puzzles and read the comics with that. The times they are a changing, but NOT my morning routines.

It’s not OCD. We all have our rituals somewhere in our lives. And when they get disrupted, we’re more bothered than we are by problems elsewhere.

As I read more and more comics online , the daily paper became less important
Haven’t bought one in years, sometimes I do miss them

I’d be OCD but it’s not in alphabetical order and that REALLY bothers me.

OCD would be if she went outside to check for the paper 8 or 10 times.
