The spouse, as did her mother, has an unending stockpile of stuff saved that someone can used some day. Like her mother, when she croaks, the kids will have to hire a minimum of two huge dumpsters to get rid of it.
When we moved into our RV, I was surprised at how many recycled containers I had. I tossed all but one small butter tub. I kept it because Tupperware doesn’t make one that size and I use it all the time. A week or so ago, I went through the cupboards in the RV again and donated some of the Tupperware to charity, also. It’s amazing how much more room you have when you don’t keep things you won’t use.
Speaking of church – cottage cheese-type containers can be used to transport the altar flowers to shut-ins. My mum’s church used to use those large juice cans and wrapped the bulletin for that week around the can. Unfortunately those cans (as well as coffee cans) have gone by the wayside.

I think my mother was once like this approximately two decades ago: saving all the butter tubs, sour cream tubs, etc to be reused.

Companies like Tupperware could really rake it in if they marketed extra lids.

Forgot the jars and coffee cans with fitting plastic lids.

My wife favours the commercial containers, but I find the margarine and yoghurt containers stack better, and remain durable when frozen.

I save enough so I can give food to others. Then start saving again. The rest go in the recycles/trash.

We save any quart-sized container and use them as secondary re-pots for tomato (and other) plants we’ve started from seeds.

We take those containers to church. They are great for taking home leftovers from church dinners as they don’t need to be returned.
