I was once told to write my own review. I was fantastic. Never happened again.

I remember a high-school English class where one of our assignments was to write our own epitaph, assuming a long life ahead of us. Basically “What will you do with your life so people will remember you the way you want?”. I thot it was a good idea, probably way better than any life planning the guidance counselors ever had us do, but the teacher who assigned it got a bit of pushback because some parents considered it too ghoulish.

I took an example of a neighbor that ‘preceded me’ and his self-obituary, for most of his relatives never knew his travels or accomplishments, so I wrote up one for myself, for MY OWN relatives have NFI what I ever accomplished, save for leaving them a huge bunch of money. This business of “surrounded by his loving family” doesn’t work in my case.

Andy was such a great character!
