    Why are you complaining, Andy? You’re winning 4 aces to 3 … this mean you cheat better, what else?

    My respect for Chalkie just went up by a wee little notch! He’s finally learning to play the game by Andy’s “rules”.

    “How do you know he’s cheating?”

    “He’s not playing the hand I dealt him!”

    Seems to me that Chalkie’s cheating isn’t working in his favor anyway. Isn’t four of a kind better than three of a kind? Especially when it’s aces?

    Andy must have learned to play cards from his Uncle Claude, probably where he learned to drink and malinger as well.

    Hey, Affie. If you are still looking here, I’m giving blood next Tuesday. Wish me the best of Maltese luck. Because I’m always bricking it (scared)

    From the movie “The Sting” comes one of my favorite lines: “What was I supposed to do, accuse him of cheating better than I was?” (If that isn’t the ACTUAL line, too bad. As Winston Churchill did NOT say, “Blood, sweat, and tears.”) One of my favorite episodes of “Tumbleweeds” was the gang playing poker. Snake-eye asks, “Is deuces wild?” Ace answers, “No.” “Why not?” “Because you’ve got four deuces,” “How do you know?” “I DEALT, didn’t I?” Then the revolvers and derringers come out, and Tumbleweeds asks, “Pinochle, anyone?”

    Does anybody actually play cards any more? I used to really enjoy playing Pinochle but that was many years ago. Also a friendly game of Poker. Dealer’s choice with quarter limit was good fun.I was never very good at Bridge.

    @ELDO

    I think you are right. Television was bad because it was not interactive. The internet is good in that it is interactive. I credit it for keeping my brain from atrophying. My parents in their later years (even younger than me now) could only stare at a TV.

    I had a game once called Chickadee Poker based on the film antics of comedian W.C. Fields. There were eight aces in the deck and you bet your morals, scruples and principles.
