This is a repeat from years ago. It’s one of the comics I had in my lawyers cartoons collection. Shame for foisting it on us as a “new” strip.

There was a case where a painter made a painting of a statue, except there wasn’t any statue involved. Someone saw the painting and commissioned the statue. Painter sued and lost. Different media, basically.
