Not so bad for a man, but traumatic for a woman.

Male pattern baldness is marked by receding hairlines or loss of hair starting in the middle top of the head and spreading out. Female pattern baldness tends to be a gradual but persistent thinning of the air.

A hairdresser friend tells me that a lot of women have thinning hair…… but you must ever tell them.

Many men and women can grow long, thick hair. I urge those of us that can please let your hair grow long enough to get a 12" hank when cut. There are at least 7 charities that will make wigs from donated hair for cancer patients or patients with other hair-loss causing catastrophic illnesses. Most want your hair in its natural color and texture (no hair dyes or perms). I have my hair whacked from waist length to chin length about every three years. It doesn’t hurt to help others.

That’s menopause for you….. growing hair where you don’t want it and losing hair where you do want it!
