Well, I thought I remembered something about a Luger, but I reviewed the previous days and found nothing.

Think Mike and Joe will adopt some of Al Capp ’s style when they return? These drawings have grown on me.

George Reeves officially committed suicide. Even though there always been conspiracy theories.

In the case of George Reeves, Wikipedia tells us:

“The guests later heard a single gunshot from upstairs. Bliss ran upstairs into Reeves’ bedroom and found him lying across the bed dead, his naked body facing upward and his feet on the floor. It is believed that this corroborated Reeves’ sitting position on the edge of the bed when he allegedly shot himself, after which his body fell back on the bed and the .30 caliber (7.65×21mm) Luger pistol fell between his feet.”

I might as well make a guess….I’m figuring Mr. Candidate for a ticket to the gas chamber.

I’ve been reading Dick Tracy from the 50’s thanks to someone’s link. It’s really good but why did they switch out Pat Patton for Sam? They even wear the same clothes.

The guy in the first panel looks a bit like Sam Elliott. I bet John did that intentionally.

Nice detail on Tracy’s tie not going all the way up to the top button – slightly askew, just like you would probably see in real life.

Today we seem to have lost the ability to see who we are replying to. Consequently every comment looks like you are replying to the first poster in the thread. Confusing.

How about arresting the woman who just walked away while he was talking of suicide?

The guy in the yellow coat is acting suspiciously. “Perpetrator”? Not killer or murderer, but perpetrator?

Then again, everything Ning has said has been suspicious.

But I stick with my theory that it was Lovecraft, who brought Ning and Candidate over to be her alibi. The casing was under the body on the bed because the killing shot was done there, muffled by the body and bed (and who but Lovecraft could get that close?). Then she arranged for a louder second shot as she came down the stairs so her guests could swear she didn’t do it.

Interesting how Jerry Lennox just happened to show up.

A couple of you guys have posted about the coroner looking like someone else. Purely accidental. I just thought it would be funny if he was blind as a bat but with a giant nose for sniffing out clues.

A Luger is a pretty big “cannon”. :-)

A Luger is not all that hard to find on the legitimate market. So I don’t think Tracy is going to collar someone on the basis that “only he/she” (on the basis of travel to Germany/Austria, etc., or of former military service) would have had access to such a murder weapon. And finding the shell casing under the body could be consistent with suicide, I believe. So, In fine, I have no idea what idea Tracy has….

Having reread everything up to this point …

Lenore said “we heard the shot as I was coming down the stairs” implying that she was with somebody else. My guess is Lenore, with one of the Cannons.
