Windblown Tommy is one of my favorite BCN panels ever. I love it that Georgia is adding new details, like the herd of little mustaches, to her “ode to spring.”
Oh look! One of the mustaches said hello! Is he going to be a new character? Will Tommy do a full scale interview taking the little mustache through his perilous journey through winter’s lair and finally to its edge?! Stay tuned!
I just have to say, that this is the only comic I regularly read the comments for…because it seems to be used primarily by gentle, kind people who love cats, nature, Georgia, and eschew snarky, political comments and nasty remarks to each other. Such a joy in today’s dubious world. Thank you all who comment here for making it a ‘safe place’ to browse!
Good morning and happy Hump Day to all orbsters and their orbabies. All is quiet here today, we are waiting for a call from the hospital confirming the time of Paul’s exploratory tests tomorrow. I love the little talking mustaches opening a dialogue with Tommy.
Sue Ellen asked yesterday if anyone remembered what the subscriber count was before it disappeared for a while. The last number I had written down at work was 8262.
We had the powerful angry wind here yesterday. It pushed the sytem out faster than expected and we ended up with a beautiful sunny day :) Back to cloud and rain today though
I don’t mind the fuzzy caterpillars but I don’t like Tent caterpillars, they strip all the trees bare and get onto and into everything
You know, I now cannot think of spring without thinking of Tommy. A couple years ago he did a similar broadcast in which he referred to “this guy” and now that connection is unbreakable.
To say is national pet day and my mother Mary’s birthday. Mama died in January. We are lucky to have her last dog. So a shout out to Cookie and their love for each other.
I always see the woolly-bear caterpillars more in the fall. When you bike in the country you’ll see them trying to cross the road. Generally in either direction, so I’m not sure even they know where they’re going.
Leave the mushrooms/toadstools alone, Tommy, they aren’t good for cats! The wooly worms are back and ready to do what wooly worms do, whatever that may be. Hope you don’t have pollen allergies because the air is loaded with pollen! Since you’re a cat, you should be checking out all the flowers that are finally blooming. My old tom cat Squeaky loved smelling the flowers in Spring.
I love the Wooly Bears! Such remarkable little caterpillars. These would be the same ones seen last fall looking for snug places to wait out the winter. They actually produce antifreeze in their cells to keep from freezing solid, and thaw out come spring. Ones in the Arctic may take up to 14 years to turn into moths. Nature is so full of wonderful things!
The following is a fanmade continuation of the BCN arc. Read at your own risk. TastesLikeChicken is not responsible for people who have shriveled up because of the cringiness of this.

Panel 2:
Lupin: Tommy, we’d hate to interrupt you, but we’re here with some breaking news related to your report on Spring. Elvis, take it away.
Panel 3:
Elvis: Thanks, Lupin. I’m here live on the scene, where thousands of mustaches have come back from the dead!
Elvis: This changes everything we know about mustaches. Now we ask: are they living or dead?
Bottom Scrawl: Night of the living mustaches ~ Attack of the vampire beards
Panel 4:
Puck: Elvis, I’d like to interrupt this news with another breaking news – we’ve got this all wrong. Turns out these aren’t mustaches after all. They’re something the People call a “pillar of cats.”
Puck: I don’t know whether to be flattered or offended.
Panel 5:
Elvis: Lies! It’s all lies! These aren’t cats! They’re-

Good thing Tommy has enough ballast to keep from being blown away by the lion-ish wind.

As long as they aren’t browntail moth caterpillars, I’ll mostly ok with it.

Tommy is the ideal cat-about-town reporter, with such a sunny view of life and others.

What do the mustaches morph into? We see them in the garden sometimes, they are huge. I can imagine Tommy sporting one on his upper lip soon.
