When I was little, my dad followed me around with a camera. We have volumes upon volumes of photo albums (this was late 70s-early 80s, so actual photos and actual photos albums) of pictures of me. I got so sick of it I eventually started hating having my picture taken. I wish I could have put it into words like Marcus here!
One of Hubby’s relatives always stuck out her tongue when you tried to take her picture. Thought it was funny or something. I mentioned that when so-and-so died we had to find photos so the undertaker could see how she looked. Hubby chuckled, and then said to his relative, “I guess you’ll go to Heaven like this” and he stuck out his tongue. She gave him as really dirty look, but she did finally agree to have her picture taken with a decent expression.
First borns garner much fawning. My mom has heaps of scrap books, photos and memorabilia, a whole chest full, of my sister; me, a ratty old shoe box containing a broken rattle, a toll booth receipt and a feather.

Fret not. The pendulum will swing back and kids will be feared and despised once again. Especially if they’re on your lawn.

Poor Marcus. I’d give his swing a push if I could….
