Sort of sounds as if she’s trying to convince herself as well.

Well, there is one tiny little problem. Philo had nothing to do with the disappearing pigs. Philo got caught up in a technicality, the REAL bad guys are still out there. I still can’t shake the feeling that Portia may not be quite what she seems….

Someone is looking into how the phones are wired it seems. Guess Walt’s looking for the bug. And as long as no one calls looking for their mother, he should be fine.

FOXWORTHY’s elimination was all part of the CCE’s plan and I don’t think it’ll be long before Portia’s little box of closure is blown all to Hell…

By the way, I wonder what became of Dottie? With Philo gone, will she try to salvage what’s left of her reputation and try to get back her old job? Portia may be speaking of justice being a fresh start for Endtown to get back to normal, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. Sure, the tensions die down, but will resurface in due time when those responsible for the pigs’ disappearances & murders will crave fresh meat again.

yup, it’s official, the people were told that he was the serial killer, meaning they now have a false sense of security as the real killer is still prowling around…

It’s all downhill from this point on. Normal? Think again!

Ultimately what most people want is a secure and mundane existence. Justice, truth and the greater good? Those are things for believing in, not actively pursuing… Yet somehow, I don’t trust Walt will be leaving things to just “normal”.

I really hate that Foxworthy was executed. I thought for sure someone would jump in and stop it. I’m also mad at Walt for not being that someone.

We know that more than one set of teeth gnawed the bones that were found. It’s not a serial killer…but a group of them. I wonder if that fact made it to the local newspaper.

Honestly, that sanctimonious expression on Portia’s face! All’s for the best in all possible worlds. Ha!

I thought for sure that Walt would be packing his bags, but that he is repairing the phone so she will have to face reality, shows that he isn’t throwing in the towel just yet.

So…Walt gets the phone fixed. It rings. He picks it up. Voice on the line insists that Portia still should kill hersell. Or something similar. I don’t think the “social change” wolves were behind

Poor Portia… She’s had to deal with her brother being eaten to death, and the harassing phone calls encouraging her to do the same. If not for Walt’s interference, she would have literally starved herself to death. Walt’s love and support has been a big help to her, but she was still fragile; hearing about the pig head found in Foxworthy’s ice-box was all it took for her to snap.

Now that Foxworthy has been executed for the crimes, one would think that Endtown is safe again. Which would mean no more harassing phone calls. But we, the loyal readers, know the truth, don’t we? And Walt believes in Foxworthy’s innocence, too. He just can’t prove it yet.

The articles about the so-called “food shortage” are still to be believed. Even if Jacob was to go to the press, what are the chances that anyone there will listen to him? Well, perhaps Penelope Puma, but everyone else is regretting putting her in charge.

And considering how easy it was for a smokehouse to be set up and hidden so well, it’s just a matter of time for the real pig-killers to want to stock up on more sausages. They clearly cannot live on canned beans alone.

The only question now is… Can you imagine how Portia will react to getting another phone call telling her to sacrifice herself for the dwindling food supply? At least she won’t be able to blame it on Foxworthy this time…

The poor, pitiful, enlisted rank, rats have it worse. They can be shot summarily without a trial for as little as disobeying an order or sleeping on duty.

Portia reminds me of the woman who got Bill Cosby put behind bars. “Finally closure.” Unless it’s not.

Getting the feeling Portia is more involved than we’re being led to believe. First scene is her running (potentially away from something?), and picking the wolves as patsies. Remember, pigs are omnivores, as well as cannibalistic depending on conditions. And even though the “perpetrator” has been hung, the actual perp hasn’t been caught.
