After it failed to do the gocomics rerun a while back, I now think that fact may have been meta-humor.

Is GeoCities still used these days albeit there’s Facebook and other social media sites?

If I were you Marigold, I would not open up a Facebook account.

Maybe somebody will find my Tripod page in the internet archive.

Claim that it was hacked and none of the materials reclaimed from the void are actually yours.

That’s how the pros do it.

Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.

I had a geocities way back when! Good times.

For a second I thought GeoCities was a parody name.

Oh, is that all?

The same thing happened to me. I was having trouble getting a website to work in a class I was taking, so I decided to look back on my old Geocities site about drive-in theaters. When searching for it on whatever archive it was stored on, I found the page of someone who made his own local drive-in site who was looking for my current contact information. I wrote him just before he was giving up on his own site.

Nothing in the Internet ever disappears.

Do I miss my old page, replete with flashing text, crawling text, flame animations, and spinning globe animations? Nope. That dancing baby is gone forever.

Time, like space, is not continuous, but rather hyper-pixelated. Everything is divided into incredibly small units which we traverse through a series of imperceptible teleportations.

Don’t be silly Marigold. Time is a wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey ball.
