I cannot watch a show with a laugh track! Live audiences laugh when something’s funny. With a laugh track, it’s hahahaha after every line that pretends to be mildly amusing, which is basically every line. Predictable and distracting. Sadly I miss out on a lot of got comedies that way.I
Opera is one of three music forms I simply can’t listen to (rap and most smooth jazz being the other two), but I have to admit it was tolerable when I sat through three hours of Don Giovanni because I actually saw what the singing was all about with English subtitles projected above the stage to tell me WHAT the singing was all about. To me, opera is like a prehistoric Broadway but I still can’t listen to it on its own…the singing’s typically too forced and unnatural.

There is a live audience, you know. Just wait for the comedy relief parts.

You just have to strike the right note when going to the opera. Otherwise everything seems off-key.
