    Be careful buying a cave there. You might end up with a tree for a front door. As Nabuquduriuzhur said we get some strong winds here in the Great Pacific Northwest (me in Washington) in the late fall and winter. The trees on the coast do indeed show the wind effect.

    As the twig is bent, so grows the tree. The trees on the North Carolina Beaches also show the direction of the prevailing winds. Except in hurricanes (North Carolina is a hurricane magnet), the winds are usually not strong, but they are constant.

    They said Paradise Valley, MT got breezy . 70 – 80 mph winds is a hurricane in Florida!

    Coastal trees in Florida are like that. On the few coastlines haven’t been bulldozed.
