Sorry, the wording in the 2nd panel ruins the joke. It should read “LETS GET SOME FISH AND CHIPS”, then the punchline is acceptable.Let’s go means “let us go”, so the punchline is nonsensical.
By all means get Andy his fish and chips Flo. Eat yours at the shop while they are nice and hot, buy his, catch a movie, chat with Ruby and then give Andy his. Be sure to shake the cans well when you walk in the door.
There is a lovely Fish & Chip restaurant in my local town. It’s only ever had 1 bad review from somebody (there’s always one) I’ve been there several times. Last time I was there I had Chicken Tikka, chips with medium chilli sauce. It was very nice. However, I normally have a jumbo battered sausage, chips and curry sauce. It’s £4.50.
I have explained this before on this forum. This comic arrives in the US (for some silly reason) uncolored. It is up to somebody on this side of the pond to color it. The UK cartoonists smudge the noses of the characters generally to indicate either intoxication or tiredness from a hard day’s work. In Andy or Chalkie’s case it means color it red. In Flo or Ruby’s case it means leave it uncolored. The US colorist after many years have never grasped this simple concept.
Why does she stay with him since she has a job and does all the work around the house as well? Guess I am missing the hidden meaning in this cartoon. Sigh!

She should bring back enough fish and chips for herself. Andy can hustle the pubs for food and drinks.

Doesn’t “let’s” mean “let US?” If you weren’t planning to go, why’d you say that.

Since Andy, didn’t specify what sort of cans, Flo, bring back a six pack of sodas and beat him over the head with it.
On the other hand, his question was “COULD you bring me back some cans?” So, just say, “No, I couldn’t.” The reason? “Because.”
