After a few more drinks, quite a few more laughs, and the late edition of Breaking Cat News (“did I tell you how cute Lupin was?”) Megan was ready to call it a night. "You have a place to stay? “No, but I can always find a place to grab a few winks before daylight.” Megan thought; “Yes, I’m sure you can…” But she also knew the danger in doing this. Outside for too long, with no real place you could return to, no human contact, a cat could lose focus- go feral, as the people called it. And she also knew this could be Tre-C’s future with little pushing. Megan saw something in Tre-C in that short night that she did want to lose. For a number of reasons. She was going to take the chance that this intense, wiry tabby was going to be able to handle the change in her life that was about to happen.
“Why don’t you just nap with me tonight?” Megan offered. “Got a lot of space. There’s a deli about a block away- it’s my home AND my business there” Tre-C took this invitation like she would a mouse; frozen in place, ready to pounce at the right time. But first, she did want to know; “…deli?” Megan explained; “Yeah, it’s a place where people keep a lot of the best food they eat. I forgot you don’t know a whole lot of ‘human’.” “But we can fix that,” she thought. Tre-C liked the idea of a regular, indoor place to stay. The mouse moved, she pounced. “You said you have a business there? What do you do?” Megan’s tail rose in pride; “I’m a detective. A private eye. Or nose, depending on what needs to be found” “What do you call your agency?” Megan replied; “Catch as Cat Can”
Ok, now I’m wishing I bought some dandelion greens this weekend. Maybe two or three bunches. These flying flowers have me thinking I should have picked some up for dinner. Well, maybe next weekend.
Is anyone else have issues with this site right now? I don’t know if it’s more gremlins from needless updates or I’ve done something to my browser by accident. It was working fine going through my comic line up then it started opening everything in new tabs. And it opens comments in new tabs and if I try to open replies it just opens a new tab onto the Go Comics home page. I can post no problem as well as like strips and comments … weird. Bad enough I’ve had to zoom the page up again to read the comments with this new format
Sorry people, I’ve tried being polite, but I can’t stand it any more. You hawk up a hairball. (Or, if you don’t, someone you know does.) No such word as “hork”.
(Playing Skyrim as a cold-blooded assassin tasked with murdering a bride at her wedding, LITERALLY playing as a red eyed, blue skinned murder demon) “Hey! I should see if that Comic Strip about the adorable cats that read the news! Aww! Tommy is in a silly hat! And buzzy mouse has a tiny coffee cup!”
Good morning and happy Tuesday/Bluesday, orbsters and orbabies! Going to be another hot day today, but nothing like last week’s humidity. I love Tommy’s “hat” and Buzzy Mouse’s tiny coffee mug.
Ah, I never realized it until Tommy said “Puck, what can we expect?” Even though Lupin’s the anchor, Puck is the voice of reason, the Walter Chroncat, if you will.
Hello Mega Orb! Kowtows, beloved Orb Leader Georgia!!!
Dusty is such a happy kitty! Mommy allowed him a supervised outie sans tether. He happily noshed on grass, “horked” a little, & lay on the deck, absorbing the experience with delight. Curled up on his kitty bed, snoozing blissfully. Love and thanks for all your support!!!
Question: How does Buzzy Mouse work? Is he to be turned on to buzz & then pulled by human slaves for the pouncing delight of the Boys (Pucky)? Does something like him really exist? If so, where can he be found?
Again, congratulations to Georgia on her recognition for her writing & art! Am serious about getting her nominated for a Caldecott! What needs to happen to make it happen?
Blessings, love & joy to the Mega Orb, and this beautiful planet which I hope will one day discover the perks of orb life! Special purrs & bumps to our dear ones who are distressed, sad, feeling lonely, or other woes.
For everyone who asked about Jasper yesterday. I adopted him from a local giant dog rescue. I talked my parents into getting a Great Dane 3 1/2 years ago from a different rescue and he is now a Therapy Dog, so I have a lot of experience with the awesomeness that is a Great Dane. Jasper and Dually my Weim are getting along fine and now 2 of my cats are showing great interest in Jasper. Jasper sleeps right next to me and the cats are used to sleeping on or next to me so it won’t be long before they are all sleeping together. no one wants to be left out. As far as the food bill, he doesn’t even eat twice as much as Dually so it ‘s not really that bad and the older he gets the less he will eat. Gotta run I’m taking Jasper to my vet for a check up.
On the subject….I wonder if there are “other” news rooms watching this story. Off the subject…asking some healing vibes for my poor Linus. The heat hit him hard, and he has an upper respiratory infection that needed a trip to the vet and round of antibiotics. He’s looking better today, and he’s both interested in food and water, which is heartening. He has also “occupied” one of the dog’s beds for the duration.
Thanks everyone for the tips the other day to get my avatar uploaded. I shorted the fileName and I logged out and back in. That seems to have done the trick! I am so grateful to Georgia for this comic. I read it first everyday and I always smile. Thank you for the smiles Georgia!

After seven years of fighting “end-stage” kidney failure, my sweet House Mouse just crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I know he’s loving on his Ma-ma & Grandpa and sharing shrimp and berries with Mariah now.
Spike lived for almost 3 years with the “kitty dialysis” and died at the ripe old age of 21. Only kitty I ever had that could not only speak in English but do math. My condolences, Burke.

Tommy is going flora-camo! But being a cat- even a disciplined one- will he be able to hold his position when the “flowers” arrive?
