I think he’s either looking at the UNATTENDED BABY CARRIAGE, or the guy peeping out from behind the fence. Maybe the guy is checking out the carriage with bad intend and the dog senses it.
I believe Enter.Name.Here may be correct on the carriage. Finding an abandoned baby would certainly be considered a complexity in anyone’s life. The fact that it’s Mortimer who finds the carriage disproves Marcy’s comment about him being “oblivious”.
