I think SuperTeddy should be on display over Mrs. Grunion’s seat for the rest of the year. Deliberately hitting a school bus driver in the head while driving is not a minor offense, even if committed by a minor.
haha, Lynn absolutely nails something right on the head, here- kids HATE writing letters. Even now I can’t stand to do it, even though I’m an experienced e-mail writer. I always meant to write a letter to my host family from Japan, but just never got around to it- at 16-17, I was just too busy being a grouchy teen.
Michael should take partial responsibility here and explain that his idea for Super Ted flying through the air and attacking was just a joke and better not trying it outside of their home. Of course, that caused trouble too.
I did have a teacher who demanded money. Ballcaps were not to be worn indoors at our school. One teacher was strict about that and would confiscate any ballcaps worn while a roof was over you. You needed to pay one dollar to get it back. This teacher also did charity work, such as through sponsorship of Third World children, and warned that second offenders would see their hats gone for good and sent away to this program. One rude kid did break the “no hat indoors” rule twice, and that was not an idle warning. He actually got a picture of a kid in the Philippines wearing his hat!

I like requiring a letter of apology. Just saying, “I’m sorry” is easy. A letter of apology is a bit harder if the kid is not truly sorry.

I doubt a 5/6 year old would be able to throw teddy more than 6 feet or two meters.

It bothers me that no one else, the ones who were loud and egged her on were not punished.

Elly should have seen Lizzie walk out the door with Teddy, and should have confiscated him then.

The interesting part is that Elly is not concerned that Lizzie got in trouble, but that it happened so soon into the school year.!
The other interesting part is the implication that Michael has paid off his teachers to get out of trouble.
These guys have some unusual priorities.
