One day I realised that my nephew usually got the dog to lick his hands before lunch. So I casually mentioned that the dog licked in backside thoroughly with his tongue. My nephew ran to wash his hands and never tried that trick again. :)
Proper cleaning needs a minimum of 15 seconds of lathering. Two minutes is overkill, but when you consider their age, telling them two minutes and accepting one minute of actual work should be sufficient.
I wear gloves to handle the boxes on my delivery truck [don’t know how many hands touched them or if they wash after restroom breaks] (better grip with coated gloves) and also because of all the door handles I touch (think schools and convenience stores at rush times). And I use my own pen for all paperwork. Over the past 17+ years as a driver I have had very minimal sick time due to “germs”. Oh, I also wash my hands every 3 stops, just in case.

C’mon Mom, it’s dinner, not prepping for surgery!

Easier to train them like I trained my kids – Just let me smell your hands. They knew they had to wash.

Wash with Alka-Seltzer tablets. The fizz is FUN. (KIDS!! Don’t try this at home without parental supervision!)

More than two minutes? I thought proper handwashing was 30 seconds?

“More than two minutes”? They’re eating a meal, not performing brain surgery.
