There are some people who do not have critical thinking as a skill (some call it common sense.) Sometimes you need to teach it.

For example, wax lemons do not, indeed, have anything but air inside. Unless you need a cup of air…

No wonder there is a sterno under the lemonade pitcher.

Those lemons floating in the pitcher could be wax… they would not add much flavor but could be good for advertising. All be it false advertising. Plastic ones filled with water could serve as none diluting ice cubs, but I think those came a few years later.

Little smarties like her is why you didn’t like girls at that age! (at least back in that ‘era’ you didn’t….. don’t know if that’s still the norm these days or not)
