I don’t think spontaneity is stupid but I do think stupid is contagious and the more others get involved the more contagious and stupider it gets. Finally breaking down into fits of silly laughter.

Arlo must be getting old. He just missed Janis’ invitation to spontaneity. But look at me talking about spontaneity. At my age spontaneity involves a nap.

What news does she have for Arlo?

An instant classic. Usually I think that when Janis is in some state of undress, so that’s a real tribute to Jimmy’s art and dialog today!

To do something stupid, I would need much more energy than I do now.

Spontaneous is using that kitchen table for something it wasn’t designed for.

I like Janis’ surprised expression in panel 3. To that point she was thinking Arlo was going to suggest another romp in the back yard.

I think in panel 4 is Janis saying there were numerous times she went along with Arlo’s “spontaneous” ideas and with mixed results.

I have spent my whole life steering away from doing stupid things. Looking back, I realize that was not always smart.

One GF’s (the married one) idea of spontaneous was 9 PM every Thursday and twice once a month on That Thursday

I don’t get this comic about half the time. My husband and I don’t communicate like this at all. I actually say what I mean and don’t make him guess.
