    There just isn’t enough bosses willing to pay for honest work done. They would rather use slave labor in China until Americans are reduced to slave labor.

    There no US laws keeping companies from taking their near their entire out of the country. They should be penalized for it.

    I am a small business owner and I would love to hire someone who showed up for work everyday (preferably sober) and did their work the way I asked instead of cutting corners when I turn my back.

    @Prfesser and others:

    Nothing will get me on my soapbox faster than out-sourcing, school issues and taxes. You all fired me up, so here goes.

    1st - Yes, I agree, the schools and the teachers are slighted. And much to the detriment of our nations children. I know in Florida many years ago when they started their Florida state lottery, 17% of the receipt from sales was to go to the schools. And it did. Only problem is, they took away most of the original monies that came from taxes earmarked for schools and used it in other areas. So much for raising taxes for the schools.

    2nd - The glory of NAFTA. Send all the jobs overseas and bolster THEIR economy while companies here let go good workers and the foreclosure rate in this country continues to skyrocket. Families are left homeless and eventually, hopeless. Sure, keep out-sourcing to China and other counties. Just don’t complain when your job or your kids job is next to go over there.

    3rd - Americans expect “fair” incomes so that they can afford “extravagances” like food, clothing and a roof over their head. With prices soaring and wages not of course they want more money. And with the price of everything going up and wages not do you think they can afford higher taxes? If you are some of the few who are able to afford the bloodletting done by the government then praise the Lord. But 1700 more jobs were just lost in my area in the past couple months. People I know have lost their homes because of it. There is no place close by to look for work, even if there were jobs available. And with the price of gas who could afford to commute long distances any more. Half their pay would be for transportation alone.

    And I’m sorry, but factories in the good old US of A that have been up and running for years with WELL qualified American laborers are shut down and the work out-sourced to other countries for cheaper labor. So it’s not just “high tech” jobs that are lost. It all boils down to corporate greed. Also, try telling some of our extremely WELL qualified “high tech” young people here in our country that line.

    I’ll get off my soap box now.

    Try an alarm clock that works and an attitude adjustment. There are lots of businesses that would enjoy having an employee that actually showed up on tiime and did what they were hired to do.

    the causes are myriad, and one issue not addressed is our tax system. an American company gets a bigger tax break by taking their business overseas than to stay here.
