“What kind of pie is that?” was a trick question. A dog’s sense of smell is 10,000 times more sensitive than a human’s. Poncho knew what kind of pie it was almost before she made it.

There must be some kind of pie that’s poisonous to dogs. It wouldn’t even have to be fatal, not the first time. Just bad enough to prove she could do it the second time.
