“I’d like to call back summertime

And have her stay for just another month or so.

She got the urge for going,

And I had to let her go.” (Joni)

Nate – autumn is soooo beautiful. At least it is where I live. Summer has been lovely, but much too hot for my taste. Farmer’s Almanac says we are in for a mild winter. That must mean only two blizzards and one ice storm. On second thought, I’m with Nate. Come back Summer!!!!

I look forward to Winter bringing a relief to Summer’s heat, and look forward to Summer bringing relief to Winter’s cold. When I do start to complain about one or the other, I know the following season will soon be here. (In my book the couple of days for Spring and Autumn aren’t usually long enough to complain about.)

These are pirates, but also sailors – they can sail to the tropics and experience “summer” weather year round…

At 8,500’ in the middle of Colorado, I’ve seen it snow from September to June (a thousand feet higher and I coulda said July), and be in the 70’s a couple of days later…

4 months of non stop hot weather, very hot, and a serious drought here in Michigan we say thankfully goodbye to a lousy summer.

Another week in the low 80s for the Chicago area. The Pirates of Lake Michigan are still warm, if wary about fallout from Hurricane Florence.

    Good afternoon, crew!

Past few weeks have been constant high humidity, then, just like that, literally overnight, the weather turned cold, and it has been raining since Friday, non-stop! Flood warnings and watches all over PA. And now Flo is headed our way, I guess. Summer just vanished. SIGH! I’m with Nate! I wonder if she would listen to me? :-D

    Good afternoon Crew!

I am one of the few people I know who is not a summer person (I have a heart condition that is not tolerant of heat or humidity) so I am happy to see it go.

However I do feel badly for those who will miss it. Mainly because I will hear a LOT of complaining about how cold it is. My mother likes the sunlight (I think she is a plant.)

Personally, I’d be happy if summer lasted all year long. Or failing that, if we just had a brief spring/autumn on either side, and said “Nice knowin’ ya” to winter …

    Good Evening, Crew.

My wife has fibromyalgia. This summer was brutal for her—the humidity.
