ain’t it the truth!!!! my wife’s 2002 mine 2005 – they’re paid for – they run well – and they get the job done. seems the vast majority of the hi-schoolers in our town won’t drive anything less than 2015 models (hi school just down the street a mile) – cause daddy pays for it!my kids drove clunkers -mechanically safe but ugly – to hi-school or walked – this daddy wasn’t going to pay new car money for a teenager to hot rod around in – “you want a ‘new/newer’ car – get a job” (funny they turned out alright even without a fancy car to drive back then LOL)

Can’t claim to have the oldest car in the neighborhood, but I do have the oldest one that works.

I’m still puttering around in a 2006 Nissan Sentra. Use god motor oil and run it past the local mechanic once a year or so.

The way some of them drive, a few months and their vehicles are dents and scratches. And they have no idea how to replace a headlight!
