Here we are children, come and get your lollipops, lollipops, come along my little ones. They’re all free today, cherry pie, cream puffs, ice cream, treacle tart.
(best viewed by Google Chrome which can automatically translate most pages as necessary) has info and links that point to info about this roughly A1 paper size painting.
both have sparse info about this artist, perhaps in addition to what’s indirectly pointed to by the first URL. This is the first work by him used here.
Again, a larger strip image is shown by clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s MASTERPIECE #2044 (September 20, 2018) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment.
So glad to hear the phrase “Fall and go boom” still exists! Said it all the time in my childhood. (Had 8 siblings, so someone was always falling and going boom.)
The Frans Hals Museum, owner of the painting used for last Monday’s strip, redesigned the portion of its website dealing with painting information, after the 2nd References link was added to
(the first URL in that comment), as anyone who tried it (and didn’t find any useful information about that painting) already knows. The redesigned website creates a new URL with each search for a painting; hence, there isn’t a permanent URL to point to (or at least I couldn’t figure one out); so, I didn’t change that (stale) link, thinking that someday, the museum’s website designer might replace the location it points to with a redirection to the correct location (fat chance, I know).
Anyway, the museum has since informed me where to look, and I’ve added Notes to the above URL, which if followed, will direct you to the extensive info (mainly in English, about both the artist and painting, including a different title than what I posted), that the 2nd References link pointed to when it worked.

Grandma is hoping the peddler doesn’t run out of bubble gum baseball cards before she gets there. It took awhile to put in her teeth.
