Thanks again, Mike Curtis and Joe Staton! Folks in Carthage, Texas and elsewhere are getting a kick out of this. And that includes me! I’ve got folks calling me “Pete” now!

Just an aside, since this probably sheer coincidence, but the UK has a couple of very popular comedy actors who sometimes work together as “Armstrong and Miller”. Granted their joint work is basically short sketch comedy, not movies, but both my wife and I were immediately drawn to the parallel. Americans may be familiar with Alexander Armstrong from his work on various Doctor Who projects, and Ben Miller for his role in the Johnny English movies and in Primeval. https://youtu.be/_PDdh5MYvbU

What a silly premise – a once-famous comic duo’s legacy is bolstered by a new comic strip about them. Who would ever believe…What’s that? “Lum and Abner”? Hmm…

Okay, Flintheart just happens to be emcee for a film festival featuring two vaudeville type actors that are soon to be in a nationwide comic strip. We have now rehashed all of last week, so can we please find out how this relates to the Polar Vortex arc? And what about Ms Devil whom we left languishing in the Tracyville Grey Bar hotel?

I was delighted to learn that DT would continue after DL retired, but after all this time with S&C, I really don’t like it very much. I believe that it’s because the storylines are so brief that I can never get a feel for the characters and really get into the story.

So, Deacon and Miller will get a marketing “push”; but after the first few weeks only true fans will remain faithful. But that (as far as I can see) is just sub-arc to set up whatever New Nefarious Plot Piotr Volkov will come up with to cause problems for Lafayette Austin and Crystal, Junior Tracy and Honeymoon, Dick Tracy and the MCU, and (most vulnerable of all, I fear) Vitamin Flintheart and Kandikane and their unborn child….
