I think he must be the trustee for the trust, so I think that “administrator” is the same thing, but I guess he wants Peter to give him (Vortex) control of the fund.
Piotr, Piotr. Do you really think a successful, syndicated, newspaper comic artist is so naive as to not have people to handle his legal/financial affairs? That he’d trust entities like TMS to have his best interest in their “hearts”? You need a new scheme to get Pitchblade’s inheritance.
Like everyone else, I’m not exactly sure what PV’s plan is – but here is my guess: the Russian mob (of which PV is a component) is holding the money “in trust”, but the principal is not being actively administered (i.e. invested for growth or disbursed). That would require Peter’s authorization. If PV can persuade Peter (for example by telling him that making him Administrator will facilitate the release of funds to underwrite the Festival) to agree to make Polar the “Administrator” or the person who has the unrestricted authority to disburse the principal ($$$), he can then siphon off (steal) as much as he thinks he will get away with. Following the plot line in the story, according to Devil the original trust is now worth many times more than its original principal amount ( perhaps as much as two million) and PV could give Peter the original invested amount and then some (for show), and still have a small fortune left over for his own devious purposes.
I frequently can’t follow what’s going on in this strip. I was so pleased when the strip wasn’t cancelled but I really don’t like it that much anymore.
How did we go from a storyline featuring schoolchildren in danger & the “anti-Tracy” to a storyline about non-existent vaudevillians & the intricacies of fiduciary responsibility? Like many commentators, I’ve basically stuck by Joe & Mike through thick & thin, but they are really pushing it this time.
Still has to be one of the most confusing plot-turns in comic strip history, but I think Counterpoint has come closest to making sense of it. What Piotr wants is for Peter to sign over full rights to “administer” the almost-forgotten trust and drain it before anyone is the wiser. But it still isn’t clear how this might come to involve Tracy, since like most fraud and bunco schemes, there is no overt violence involved. In other words, the Deacon and Miller Festival could go off without a hitch and not impact Piotr’s New Nefarious and Unintelligible Plot at all….
Hello, Tracy fans! Apologies if I’m just repeating stuff you heard earlier from someone else, but The Daily Cartoonist has a little article up that reprints graphic autobiographies of the top cartoonists—Bushmiller, Caniff, Ernst & Saunders, Hamlin, Willard, Fisher (drawn by his assistants, no doubt), and… Gould!
So. If you ever wanted to see Tracy working together with the strip’s greatest villains and other characters… who all, for some reason, want to stick Chester Gould in the caboose with a giant Speedball pen… go to the link. Also, click on the art when you see it, and it will enlarge for you.
I’ve posted this at the two Nancys. I guess I’ll take it over to Alley Oop and call it a night.

“EDGAR ALLEN POE’S MONSTER MOM PROBLEM”
Poe resurrected from the dead
By dear departed mom’s side it is said
DNA is of the unearthly kind so sublime
A giant black “spider” he can be one anytime
Halloween is every day he can see some people
If local’s disappear and loath the night
A giant crawling “spider” may set them aflight
Poe is the spirit of the night forever more…
Where is dear old mom he will find he fore swore

The best of plans may go astray
The struggle is to find a way
To guarantee the scam will pay
All the bill’s for one more day
I must admit I don’t know why
The story shifts from low to high
But probably until the day I die
Dick Tracy will always be my favorite guy
(Apologies to Neil and Harry for deleting their comments by correcting my mistake. Didn’t want to give certain people ammunition!)

Feels like Mike and Joe had originally intended to play this out differently, particularly the “Pauly” mini-arc.
Does it count as a positive that I now have absolutely no idea where things are headed? ✨TheChief Premium Member about 6 years ago

Are those supposed to be cobwebs for Halloween, on the door’s glass or bullet holes from the shootout with Paulie?
