And by that reasoning, I canā€™t leave a comment.

Hmmm ā€“ thatā€™s a bit like what is going in our house. Husband does not understand that I like to do things alone some times. Since he quit his job back around 2007, after agreeing as part of the plan, that I could go on doing what I do normally during the day on my own, little by little we progressed to the point (long before the pandemic started) where we do everything together ā€“ big time alone is now ā€“ on my laptop after dinner (1:45 am) in the kitchen to be away from being with him in our office upstairs on my desktop computer. Pre pandemic I went out to a client in NYC once a month alone and went to my embroidery chapter once a month for 10 months a year alone (though he wants to join same also ā€“ but part of the agreement was he would not) ā€“ then lunch or whatever I wanted to do alone ā€“ such as taking donation items to Goodwill. When he first quit his job I would go out on Fridays I used to go out alone for lunch and to do whatever I wanted to do (mostly run errands) as I had done before. Friday afternoon alone disappeared years go.

So I know what this guy feels like. Some people think that wanting to do things without them means you donā€™t love them.

Wife and I spent 10+ years on a semi, traveling the country and Canada. 24/7/365. No escaping the past there.. Canā€™t go out with the boys, or gals and blow off steam. All past baggage has to be handled in a 10Ɨ10 space. However, we are both ā€œself entertainersā€ where we donā€™t need to talk and do with each other. Now that she has cancer, I still go out on Tuesday mornings for a couple hours.. That may end as the end comes.. But. We donā€™t mind being cooped up with each other hours on end.

Iā€™ll have to admire Paige for creating a ā€˜Hot Buttonā€™ issue over mis-matched expectations. And it has resonated with commenters that I didnā€™t expect! It has certainly worked for ā€˜Luannā€™ as she sometimes has hundreds of commenters! I sometimes wonder WHY do we find other peoples lives so interestingā€¦and why do we feel a need to comment on it?
