I get them from so called police charity scammers that call and ask, “Is Bob is there?” And I say, “Sorry you have the wrong number.” “Oh well maybe you can help me?” they say. And it’s just a ploy to get me to listen to their scam.
When I figured out that’s what they were doing, I would fuss them out the next time for being so deceitful and shameful. They hang up with no apologies.
Unfortunately I have to answer every call because they could be business calls.
I often get calls from numbers with the same first 3 numbers (after the area code) as my phone. Unless they are people in my contacts list, I don’t answer them. Also, I usually look up numbers to see if there were complaints against them and these kinds of calls never have reports. They must have some way of disguising their actual number.

He works for the Marshal of phone-lists. You answer and you will find yourself on more phone-list than you have ever heard of.

I get several every day. I never pick up. I know that if I ever did, I would get more such calls.

Unless I recognize the number or know the caller, I don’t answer – and sometimes, even when I do, I won’t. That’s what voicemail and texting are for.

Just this morning I saw on the TV screen that the caller was named: “V1170911320138482886” (857) 444-6598
but no message was left during the 12 second duration, and I am sure that number does not exist.
