I say you start taking money from their allowances, both of them since they don’t seem to understand that it costs money to heat the outside. It’ll teach them to shut doors!

My boys were the same way with the air conditioner in the summers here in Phoenix. Left front door wide open when they left the house. Growl.

OK, I apologize to you all for causing the current Global Warming all those years ago when I was that age and younger, while my Mom would holler at me for trying to “Heat the outdoors” by leaving doors and windows not quite shut during the winter. :)

There’s no weatherstripping wide enough to combat THAT kind of draft. :P

I use to tell my kids, it doesn’t matter how long you leave the door open you can’t make it warm outside.

There is always going to be an issue with kids and dogs. The best you can do is correct the ongoing issues and love them anyway.

If I am at my brother’s and leave the door open for 30 seconds, he goes into a big lecture. I love to leave mine open when he comes over. The refrigerator door too. LOL!

Mom used to yell at us to close the door, “we aren’t heating the outside”!

The heating bill seems to be directly proportional to the length of the cat’s tail.

When you have kids and you feel a cold wind, better check ALL of the doors and windows!

The protection of the front door. If Richard is armed with snow balls, he probably knows better than to hurl them at the front door of someone else’s house for fear of breaking glass. Elizabeth on the other hand, can hurl insults all she wants without fear of retribution.

Ah….. it’s been many, many years since I’ve seen (and done) that – boots (called “arctics”) in the foyer, umbrella in the stand.

Remember a few days ago when she was berating her son for turning up the thermostat too high?
