Being thankful to whatever sky god you might worship is fine but I think the few descendants of the Wampanoag might take issue with the Pilgrim’s part considering they murdered over 150 men, women and children of their ancestors without provocation about 50 years after the tribe saved the Pilgrims from starvation. The Pilgrims considered this to be a preventative measure because the settlers to the north were having a tiff with the Algonquin at the time and they didn’t want the Wampanoag getting all uppity on them as well.
