It was a mixed bag. Though the House did seem to go to the Blues. Still lots of red out there—-commie /fascist red.

You have to admit, it worked with his base. The xenophobic, angry, minimally educated, misogynistic, racist base.

I notice that Trump is stating, for the record, after the midterms, that the loss of the House of Representatives was no big deal (and NOT his fault), that the Republicans that hewed to the clarion call of Trump, won, that the Republicans who tried to distance themselves from Trump went down to defeat. He’s willing to “work” with Democrats, as long as they don’t launch investigations into his administration. As an aside, the reason he doesn’t think it’s a good idea for Congress to subpoena his tax returns is because people “wouldn’t understand them”!

It is, of course, not fair to criticize anyone for the inability to speak properly in front of an audience, but, GOODNESS, I wish Donnie had taken Oratorical lessons at some point before he decided to “show up” Obama! He sounds stiff and ‘wooden’ when reading from a teleprompter (remember when he used to ridicule Obama and Clinton for using them?) And he has an amazing time trying to express his admittedly more animated thoughts when speaking extemporaneously – they are not so much "stream-of-consciousness as stream-of-semiciousnessness. It’s sometimes like trying to understand what someone who is using English as their second language is trying to say.

Speaking of Trump’s fear mongering, I haven’t heard him mention the Caravan even once today!

    What happened since yesterday?

Effects of Electoral College (and the system of representation it’s modeled on): Republicans control the US Senate, where each state gets equal weight (2 senators apiece). Democrats control the US House of Representatives, where each person gets equal weight (more or less).

So compare blue California to red Wyoming. Population 39,776,830 : 573,720 or about 69:1. Representatives 53:1 (but only because Wyoming’s entitled to the minimum of 1). Senators 2:2.

Effects of gerrymandering: Where I live in Wisconsin, America’s most gerrymandered state, Democrats won most statewide races about 50:48 last night (except incumbent Dem. Sen. Tammy Baldwin beat ALEC stooge Leah Vukmir 55:45). But Republican-controlled redistricting after the 2010 census resulted in Republicans controlling the state assembly 64-35 and the state senate 19-14 (58:42).

I would like to know what happens when duncan hunter and chris collins who are under indictment for federal crimes, and won re-election, are convicted. Does their seat go to the runners up, or new elections?

Where’s his “I CHEATED” sticker? Did Brian Kemp insist on keeping all those to himself?
