My cat certainly prefers a lazy mode of transportation… namely my shoulder. I jokingly told my Mom we should have named her Polly.

Being a senior….and living in a hilly community….and having had the buses change all their usual routes…..has amost completely wrecked my legs and knees…..I used to love walking…and did it lots….but now, I take taxis periodically and forego major events in the city. The bus system pulled out 3 busstops that benefitted seniors and senior residences…am still contemplating my next move …..

Once you get used to riding the Roomba from one end of the kitchen to the other, you’ve pretty much made your choice.

Many of us who look healthy, AKA, “not overweight”, which IS bad for health, still have illnesses that cause problems that make us resort to devices that aid our mobility, AKA, motorized personal vehicles. And many of us are overweight and suffer from nothing that can be related directly to being overweight. Obesity, howsomever, has a nasty habit of causing many health problems! And an EMT would sure be aware of that! So get off your high horses and allow somebody to fret about all the suffering he encountered in the job he had. My SIL is an EMT and Paramedic and he’d say the same thing.

we need to let dogs be dogs. I know we take good care of our pets, or should, but this “fur baby” thing bugs me.

I work at a concert venue, I arrived for a Demi Lovato show, early, because I work backstage. A car parks next to mine, and the guy gets out. He all tough-looking, wearing a wife-beater and he had a neck tattoo, and he gets a dog out of his car, and though I can’t see the dog, I see him straining to hold the leash. I went in to work, and they sent me out to meet the VIP meet-and-greet group. Here’s that guy with his dog, and it was a tiny Pomeranian and he had it in a purse-like carrier. They didn’t let him bring it in. I don’t know what he did with it, because it was summer, and he sure couldn’t have left it in his car all night!

So people actually do this? Most of the dogs I’ve known would prefer to walk, how better to sniff something every 10 ft of the walk?

My wife needs a knee replacement and can not walk very far. And in one store we see teenagers who obviously are in good shape riding all the available electric carts. We know they are ok because we see them otherwise quite active.

You should look into how our “food” is made and why the poor get fat so easily. The food manufacturers strive to make every kind of “food” they create hit your bliss level like any drug and do it legally. Why normal real food isn’t enjoyed anymore by so many. Too bland compared to the monstrosities created to keep your business and make you fat, very fat to where you can’t walk. However without body fat we would be dead. Our brains need fat to function. So fat isn’t the problem, it is the addictive foods now designed to get you to eat them all of the time and as much as you can stuff yourself with. Fast carbs are one of the problems. You eat it and it goes so fast that your body can’t use it and stores it as fat. Slow absorption carbs gives your body time to assimilate it without much fat creation.
